David L. Middleton President Executive Committee

David L. Middleton is a committed leader dedicated to strengthening communities, expanding educational access, and creating opportunities for future generations. As a Founding Member of David and Friends LLC, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, he supports a mission focused on uplifting HBCU students, promoting youth development, and empowering community service organizations through scholarships, outreach, and cultural stewardship.
David serves as the Principal and Chief Business Development Officer of GlobenetUSA.net, a multi‑state licensed General Contractor and telecommunications infrastructure firm serving federal, state, tribal, and commercial clients nationwide. With more than four decades of experience in engineering, construction, and mission‑critical communications systems, he is known for blending technical precision with strategic leadership across complex operational environments.
A graduate of South Carolina State University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering, David began his career as an engineer with Norfolk Southern Corporation before advancing to Vice President of Optical Fiber Network, Inc., where he led major telecommunications deployments during a period of rapid industry growth. In 2006, he founded GlobenetUSA.net, now a trusted provider of telecom construction, LED Boards/Score Boards, fiber optic/OSP/ISP systems, electrical infrastructure, and federal contracting services. GlobenetUSA also serves as one of David and Friends’ Visionary Partners, reinforcing his commitment to aligning business success with community impact.
David is also a former board member of the Western Piedmont Symphony, reflecting his long standing support for arts, culture, and community enrichment. A Life Member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., he is known for his hands on leadership, team building ability, and unwavering dedication to excellence, stewardship, and service.

Renee Hill Vice President Executive Committee

Renée Franklin Hill is a graduate of Brown University (B.S. Psychology) and Harvard Law School (J.D.). For over 20 years Renee was involved in legal academia having served as a member of the faculty and academic administration at both North Carolina Central University School of Law and the Charlotte School Law. During her academic tenure she served as Association Dean of Academic (at both schools), Acting Dean of Students, Acting Dean of Development and Director of Advocacy. Prior to her academic career, Renee Hill served as a project administrator for North Carolina’s Administrative Office of the Courts Guardian ad Litem program and as an Assistant Bar Counsel in the District of Columbia Court’s Board of Professional Responsibility. Renee has worked as an associate for several law firms including firms in Washington, D.C , Los Angeles, California and Charlotte, North Carolina.
Throughout her career, Renee Hill has been active in many legal associations and community groups including serving as a member of the North Carolina State Bar’s Continuing Legal Education and Ethics Committees. In addition to David & Friends, Renee has been actively involved in, holding numerous leadership positions, a number of non-profit and advocacy organizations, including the North Carolina American Civil Liberties Union, Land Loss Prevention Board, Planned Parenthood, the Council for Children’s Rights, and Charlotte Chapter of Jack and Jill of America..
Today Renee has retired from her role as a legal educator and advocate; however, she has continued her career and now is an active realtor in both North and South Carolina.

Tanita T.

Tanita Toliver Secretary Executive Committee

Tanita Goodwin Toliver is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (BS), University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Master of Social Work) and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Juris Doctorate). For the last 25 years prior to her retirement, she worked with Wells Fargo where she was a Senior Vice President in Employee Relations and worked with regulatory and policy development issues utilizing the combination of her leadership experience along with her Masters in Social Work and JD degrees. Prior to working in the financial services industry Tanita worked with the North Carolina Department of Human Resources – Division of Mental Health, Legal Aid of North Carolina and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools in the Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Office.
Throughout her career, Tanita has focused on Labor Relations and EEO regulatory compliance; she has been involved in community work with A Childs Place, Charlotte Diversity Council, International House, Boy Scouts of America–Troop 116, the Links Incorporated and Christian Educator and Elder at Memorial Presbyterian church for many years.
Today Tanita has retired from Wells Fargo and continues with her community work including David & Friends and continues to be very active with her church.

Angela Craghead Treasurer Executive Committee

Angela Craghead brings a diverse professional background spanning corporate banking, education, and real estate, with a consistent focus on mentorship, education, and service. She began her career in corporate banking at First Union as a Compliance Analyst in the trading room, where she developed a strong foundation in ethics, structure, and accountability.
Angela later transitioned into the field of education, working in Human Resources with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School system before serving as Assistant Director of the Love of Learning Program at Davidson College. It was during her time at Davidson that her passion for helping young people discover and create their own paths in life truly took shape. She facilitated student retreats, designed and taught courses, and developed training programs focused on personal growth and leadership development.
In 2003, Angela began a part-time career in real estate, which steadily grew into a full-time vocation. In 2013, she took a leap of faith and founded Angela Craghead Realty Group. Her approach to real estate extends beyond transactions; she is deeply committed to educating clients throughout the buying and selling process. Notably, many of her clients are former students from her time at Davidson College, reflecting the lasting relationships she builds through mentorship and trust.
Angela is a proud graduate of North Carolina A&T State University, receiving her BS in Business Management. Guided by a lifelong commitment to service and community impact, her involvement with David & Friends is a natural extension of her passion for giving back. Angela is deeply dedicated to helping students achieve their dream of a college education and is honored to support the organization’s mission.
